A young woman with short brown hair wearing a black shirt standing outdoors in an urban area with modern buildings, graffiti-covered walls, and fallen autumn leaves. She is leaning against a stone ledge with her arm resting on it, looking upward. There are colorful decorative spheres on the ledge and graffiti on the walls behind her.

Editorial Reports

Writing editorial reports that are both fluid and informative is an imperative skill for the publishing industry.

Click below to view my example editorial report created for Yiyun Li’s book Wednesday’s Child. In this project, I challenged myself to design an alternative cover which can be seen to the left as well as embedded in the report.

Book cover featuring two hands reaching over a watermelon bowl filled with red berries and juice, with the title 'Wednesday's Child' and author's name 'Yiyun Li' on a gradient purple background.
Illustration of a hand with acupuncture needles inserted into a dog's body, with a red target shape behind the dog, related to acupuncture for dogs.

Commission Cover Design

When not writing or editing, I can be found working on commission digital design projects.

To the left is a commission for Lexington, Kentucky, native author Chase Myers. This poetry collection features satirical stories showcasing the human condition.

This project required frequent design meetings, mock-up options, and the use of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva.

Above is a portion of a personal writing piece. This selection of photos comes from a zine I created called MADMAG. I distributed this zine independently on my campus. This is the Spring 2026 edition, focused on sapphic media.

This edition was fun to write because I collected stories from other LGBTQ+-identifying students and used them to create this collection.

The entire zine was 15 pages, including imagery and design I created to represent the current voices at my university in an interesting and satirical way.

Text excerpt from a book discussing a 2025 summer, Kentucky's humid heat, a memory of Mulholland Drive, and a scene from a film involving lesbian characters Betty and Rita in a romantic context.
Cover of a magazine or publication titled 'mademag' with a neon pink and green color theme. It features a partially obscured photo of a person with their mouth open and a hand holding a phone or similar device. Text includes 'Spring 2026', 'film collection', and the tagline 'Queering media one op-ed at a time.'
